Knead: Create Your Content

Before we can really get started, you first need to add content to WordPress. There are a number of different content types that you can create with Knead:

  • Standard Posts
  • Portfolio Posts
  • Service Posts
  • Quotes
  • Pages

Each of these content items have a page where you can display the posts in a special format, and a sub page which displays the individual posts. For example, the portfolio will list all the portfolio posts you’ve uploaded using a one to three column layout, and when you click on a specific portfolio featured image, it will display the portfolio post/slider.

Once you’ve populated the relevant post types with information you can then add them to your homepage via the Appearance → Widgets section in your WordPress administration area.

Recommended Image Sizes

For best results, upload images at least 980 pixels wide for display in the slider, or 680 pixels wide for everywhere else.

The image dimensions for widgets and pages are as follows:

  • Slider Widget: 980 x 551
  • Thumbnail Widget: 220 x 124
  • Portfolio/Four Column: 220×124
  • Portfolio/ Three Column: 300×169
  • Portfolio/Two Column: 460×259
  • Portfolio post Slider: 680 x auto height
  • Blog Post and category archive: 620 x auto height
