Your theme offers three homepage layouts:
- Blog Layout
- Business (Preset) Layout
- Widget Driven Layout
Select A Home Layout
- Go to →
- Click a tab for the layout you wish to use
- Configure any options available (See below for details)
- Click Save
- Go to → and ensure Latest Posts is selected.
Blog Layout
The Blog Layout offers you two simple settings.
Post Count
The amount of posts you want to display per page
Category
Use this if you only want one category to be displayed on the home page.
Additionally, any widgets you place in the Home Page Featured Posts panel in → will appear above the blog.
Ensure all other Home Page panels are clear and you have widgets setup in your Sidebar panel.
Preset Layout
This layout is quick, easy and recommended if you are new to WordPress or do not want the customization options of a widget-driven homepage.
Feature Slider
Select the Category for the feature slider.
Text Blocks
This section displays teaser content from 3 selected pages in a three-column layout. Use this to outline services, features, promotions or display thumbnails linking to special pages or categories.
Select a page for each block in the drop-down. For best results, pages chosen for these blocks should contain one list or pargraph or one image (any content that fits nicely in a small area)
Blog Posts
This section displays recent posts in a two-column grid
- Select the Category for the left column
- Select the Category for the right column
Click Save Changes when finished and reload your home page to view the changes.
Additionally, any widgets you place in the Home Page Footer Layout panel in → will appear below this content and is a good place to put the Gallery Widget. See the next article for details on setting up widgets.
Widget Driven Layout
The aim of widget driven layout is to give you much more control over your home page layout, content and widget options. By using widgets you will be able to determine exactly how much content, and the type of content, that is displayed.
Once active you will need to go to → to setup your widgets, which is covered in the next article.
