To access the Widget page, go to
→On the right, you will see a number of panels that you can expand:
- Slider
- Home Page
- Sidebar
- Footer
- Pricing Page
Each widget area specific to your theme has been color coded to make setup easy. Simply drag the widgets you need into the corresponding panels. At the top of the page you will find a yellow ribbon containing a handy “Click Here” link, which will display the recommended widget setup in case you get lost.
Below is an explanation of each widget and how to configure it.
Slider Panel
This panel is only for adding a Slider widget to your home page. The slider displays content from a single post category, and is best used for promos, info posts about your services or products, etc. See our demo for examples.
(Obox) Slider
- Drag the blue (Obox) Slider into this panel, then expand the widget to access the widget options:
- Select Posts or Products in the Display menu and click Save
- Select a Category
- Select whether to show Post Thumbnails or Videos in the Thumbnails menu.
- Enter an Auto-Slide Interval in seconds, or enter 0 for no auto-sliding. If auto-slide is enabled, the navigation tabs will be hidden.
- Click Save
Home Page Panel
This panel will accept any full-width Obox (orange ) widgets. The following explains each widget featured on our demo homepage.
(Obox) Quotes
This widget is a specially formatted text widget that will display the content of your Quotes post types. Quotes are explained in more detail in the Quotes article.
(Obox) Call to Action
This widget helps you create intro or promo sections with a headline and large button. Use these to link to your main shop or signup page, etc.
- Enter some Intro Text to be displayed above the buttons, or leave blank
- Choose a link type for the Left Button:
- Select Hide to not show this button
- Select External to add a custom link OR
- Choose a page to link to
- Enter some text for the button in the Button field. If left blank, the page name will be shown if selected.
- If External was selected as the link type, enter your custom URL in the Link field
- Repeat for the Right Button
- Click Save
(Obox) Info Boxes
Displays the last 4 Info Box posts in four columns. This widget is a specially formatted text widget that will display the content of your Info Box post types. Info Boxes are explained in more detail in the Info Box article.
(Obox) Three Column
Displays posts from a selected category in a three-column layout.
- Select a Post Category
- Select the number of posts to show.
- Check Show Images/Videos if you want your featured thumbnails or videos to display
- Check Show Excerpts to display a short excerpt from the post
- Check Show Dates to show the published date below the title
- Click Save
(Obox) Products
Display most recent products in a 3 column layout.
- Enter a Title (shown above the widget, such as “Featured Products”)
- Enter some text in the Excerpt field if you want to display an intro above the posts
- Select the number of posts from the Post Count menu
- Check Show Images/Videos if you want your featured thumbnails or videos to display
- Check Show Excerpts to display a short excerpt from the post
- Click Save
(Obox) Pricing Blocks
Displays the selected number of pricing blocks in chronological order. This widget is a specially formatted text widget that will display the content of your Pricing Block post types. Pricing Blocks are explained in more detail in the Pricing article.
(Obox) Blog List
This widget displays a selected number of posts from the selected category in a regular blog-style layout with a sidebar. Use this widget instead of the Blog Style homepage when you want to add other widgets to the mix other than the slider.
- Enter a Title to be displayed above the blog, or leave blank
- Enter the number of posts you would like to display in the Post Count menu.
- Select a Category
- Check Show Images to enable images or videos to appear.
- Check Show Excerpts to enable a snippet of your post content
- Check Show Meta if you would like the date, comment link and author to display
- Click Save
This widget is coded to display a specific number of posts, and will not paginate. If you want paginated posts on your homepage, use the Blog Style homepage and place any other full-width widgets you want to use into the Slider panel.
Sidebar & Footer
The sidebar accepts any single-column Obox (purple) widgets or standard WordPress (gray) widgets. Below are details on configuring Obox widgets. For help with default widgets, visit the WordPress Codex
(Obox) Twitter Stream
Display a simple feed of your latest Tweets.
- Enter a title such as “Follow Me on Twitter”. This title will link to your profile.
- Enter your Twitter ID without the @
- Select the number of Tweets to show.
- Select whether to display Replies/ Retweets
- Click Save
(Obox) Comments
Display the latest comments with a short excerpt and link to the post. This differs from the default WordPress widget in how it displays the information.
(Obox) Popular Posts
Display a list of links to your most popular posts based on the number of comments they have received. This widget draws from regular Posts only.
(Obox) Social Links
Displays icons linking to your social profiles. Enter the full URLs to your social profiles here. For the email field, enter your email address. For RSS, enter your RSS Feed Url or Feedburner URL.
(Obox) Search
Provides a styled search field.
(Obox) 125 x 125 Adverts
Displays any small adverts added using the Advert Manager
(Obox) Large Adverts
Displays any large adverts added using the Advert Manager
(Obox) Sidebar Thumbnails
Displays featured images or videos from the selected post category in a sidebar-sized slider
Pricing Blocks Panel
This panel is used in combination with the Pricing Blocks widget and Pricing Blocks post type and is used in combination with the Pricing Page Template. Pricing is explained in more detail in the Pricing Blocks article
