Access the widget page under
→On the Widget page you will see a number of panels that you can expand on the right.

Each widget area specific to your theme has been color coded to make setup easy. Simply drag the widgets you need into the corresponding panels. At the top of the page you will find a yellow ribbon containing a handy “Click Here” link, which will display the recommended widget setup in case you get lost.
Below is an explanation of each widget and how to configure it.
Slider Panel
This panel accomodates the blue Obox Slider widget.
(Obox) Slider
The Slider is a category driven widget, designed to be located at the top of your home page, and is recommended to either display slider posts or portfolio images from a specific category.
- Select a post type from the Display menu and click Save
- Select a Filter type and click Save
- Select a Category or leave All selected and click Save
- Select whether to show Post Thumbnails or Videos in the Thumbnails menu.
- Select the number of slides from the Post Count menu
- Click Save
Home Page Widgets
The Home Page Widget area accomodates any full-width or Obox (orange ) widgets.
We use a standard Text widget in this panel to add intro text below the slider on the theme demo.
If you choose to do this, please be sure to add a Title, or enter a blank space in the title field!
(Obox) Portfolio Widget
Displays featured images from your portfolios in a four-column layout.
- Select a Category or leave All selected to show the latest Portfolio posts.
- Select the number of posts from the Post Count menu
- Check Show Excerpts if you would like an excerpt of text from the post shown below the thumbnail (first 55 words of your content or the entire text from your Excerpt field)
- Click Save
(Obox) Two Column Widgets
This widget will display your videos or post thumbnails in a 2 -column style.
- Enter a Title, to be displayed above the post blocks
- Select the number of posts from the Post Count menu
- Select a Category
- Select whether to show Post Thumbnails or Videos in the Thumbnails menu.
- Check Show Images / Videos to display thumbnails. If left unchecked, only the title will show.
- Check Show Excerpts if you would like an excerpt of text from the post shown below the thumbnail.
- Enter a Content Length if you want your excerpts to be longer or shorter than the WordPress default. If left blank, the excerpt will be the first 55 words of your content or excerpt field.
- Check Show Post Dates to show the published date.
- Click Save
(Obox) Four Column Widgets
This widget will display your videos or post thumbnails in a 4 -column style.
- Select a post type from the Display menu and click Save
- Select a Category or leave All selected and click Save
- Select the number of slides from the Post Count menu
- Select whether to show Post Thumbnails or Videos in the Thumbnails menu.
- Check Show Images/Video to display images. If unchecked, only the title and excerpt will appear.
- Check Show Excerpts to display a post excerpt and enter a Content Length (between 90 and 220 characters is recommended)
- Click Save
(Obox) Blog Posts
Display a blog list on your home page. This widget only shows a selected number of posts and will not paginate – if you need paginated posts on the home page, use the Blog style Home Layout.
- Enter a Title, such as “From the Blog…”
- Select a Category
- Select the number of posts to show
- Click Save
Sidebar & Footer
The sidebar and footer panels accept any single-column Obox (purple) widgets or standard WordPress (gray) widgets. Below are details on configuring Obox widgets. For help with default widgets, visit the WordPress Codex
(Obox) Twitter Stream
Display a simple feed of your latest Tweets.
- Enter a title such as “Follow Me on Twitter”. This title will link to your profile.
- Enter your Twitter ID without the @
- Select the number of Tweets to show.
- Select whether to display Replies/ Retweets
- Click Save
(Obox) Comments
Display the latest comments with a short excerpt and link to the post. This differs from the default WordPress widget in how it displays the information.
(Obox) Popular Posts
Display a list of links to your most popular posts based on the number of comments they have received. This widget draws from regular Posts only.
(Obox) Social Links
Displays icons linking to your social profiles. Enter the full URLs to your social profiles here. For the email field, enter your email address. For RSS, enter your RSS Feed Url or Feedburner URL.
(Obox) Flickr Widget
Displays thumbnails from your flickr feed in a mini-two-column style. For best results, choose multiples of 2 for the number to show. To get your ID, click the IDGettr link. For example “39349777@N02”
(Obox) Search
Provides a styled search field.
(Obox) 125 x 125 Adverts
Displays any small adverts added using the Advert Manager
(Obox) 300px Adverts
Displays any large adverts added using the Advert Manager
