This is a major theme update that updates the framework, adds several features, and final code refactor before Picks is retired from active development on Sept 1, 2013. You will need to visit your Theme Options, Widgets and Album page to review the new options after updating. For details, visit the Theme Documentation.

Due to the size of this update, you may find it more efficient/fool-proof to reinstall your theme with the latest version of the full theme package. See this article for instructions.

General Enhancements:

  • New theme options panel and updater
  • Flickr and Soundcloud support in Social Links widget
  • New Twitter Timeline widget – you will need to reconfigure this widget if currently used!
  • Image paths all use /layout/ for consistency
  • Reduced number of image sizes created for the theme – your “large” image size in Settings > Media must be at least 980 width!!
  • Updated with WP comments
  • Theme Options added to hide comment or category in archives
  • Theme Option added to control content length in blog and category pages
  • Sort options added to content widget
  • Added widget title/link to content widget (requested)
  • Script and style enqueing improved
  • Facebook Opengraph updated and default graphic option added to Theme Options
  • Oembed updated
  • Default editor style added – your post editor will now reflect post styling
  • Welcome page updated
  • Added WMPL string translation support
  • Improved localization support for dates
  • Album page template now affected by page meta sort options – edit your main album page to set your preferences.

General Fixes

  • Refactored code/debug/depreciated tag update for WP 3.6 compatibility
  • Albums with only one image will now display one full-width image in the album list
  • Responsive fix for portrait tablets: fixes menu being clipped by header container, fixes position of related photo button
  • “Quick View”(aka Related Photo) tab no longer limited by your post reading settings (will show all album attachments)
  • Album page template now affected by page meta sort options – edit your main album page to set your preferences.
