Clean Cut: Setup Your Homepage

Clean Cut offers three different layouts for your home page. The Preset layout is set by default.

  • Blog Layout
  • Preset Layout
  • Widget Driven Layout

Select A Home Layout

  1. Go to  Theme Options → Home Layout
  2. Click a tab for the layout you wish to use
  3. Configure any options available (See below for details)
  4. Click Save
  5. Go to Settings  →Reading and ensure Latest Posts is selected.

Blog Layout

The Blog Layout offers your two simple settings:

Post Count

The amount of posts you want to display per page

Category

Use this if you only want one category to be displayed on the home page.

Preset Layout

This layout is quick, easy and recommended if you are new to WordPress or do not want the customization options of a widget-driven homepage.

Feature Slider
  1. Select a Post Type
  2. Select a Category
  3. Select the number of slides
  4. Enter an Auto-Slide interval in seconds. 3 is recommended. For no auto-slide, enter 0.
Featured Products
  1. Select whether to display this section or not
  2. Enter a Title
  3. Select a Post Count
  4. Select whether to Display Images (Yes by default)
  5. Select whether to Display Excerpts
Testimonial
  1. Select whether to Display this section or not
  2. Enter a Title
  3. Enter an Excerpt. This acts as the body of the testimonial, such as “This is the best website ever!”
  4. Enter the text for Button 1
  5. Enter the link URL for Button 1.  (Include http://)
  6. Repeat for Button 2. Leave these fields blank to not show buttons.
Services
  1. Select whether to Display this section or not
  2. Enter a Title
  3. Select a Post Count. (3 is recommended)
  4. Select whether to Display Excerpts. If set to No, only the icon and title will display.

Popular Posts

This section acts just like the Home Page Popular Posts and displays posts in a 3 column layout. Popularity is based on the number of comments the posts have received.

  1. Select whether to Display this section or not
  2. Enter a Title
  3. Select a Post Category
  4. Select a Post Count
  5. Select whether to Display Images. 
  6. Sekect whether to Display Excerpts

Widget Driven Layout(recommended)

The  Clean Cut widget-driven home page is designed to use widgets for the home page layout. Widgets grant you a wide range of customization options to create a home page that fits your style and content. If you have no widgets set, your home page will display a post slider by default.

With the widget-driven layout active, go to Appearance → Widgets to setup the widgets. Each panel is explained in the next article, Setup Your Widgets.
