Introduction

The following error appears on Facebook if you have not setup or activated a valid SSL certificate for the domain entered in your App settings, or if your SSL cert encounters a problem or expires.  As of Social Commerce 1.5, you will be warned if SSL is not setup on your site and prevented from adding a broken tab to Facebook to prevent this problem.

The Solution

  1. Make sure you are on the latest version of Social Commerce
  2. Go to Social Commerce in your WordPress admin menu and ensure no SSL errors appear in Step 2. If the page tab is already added, click Remove Page Tab, ensure all checks are green, then re-add the page tab.
  3. Ensure your SSL certificate is setup correctly and is active.
